Leonardo Gherardi is a professional geologist with a Master’s degree in Earth Science. He began his career in Italy as a PG where he focused on geotechnical sampling/testing to support engineering and construction works. In 1995, he switched over to the marine sector and worked as the party chief and data processor on marine geophysical and environmental surveys in Europe, Africa, Central and South America.

Before re-joining Alpine in 2010, he worked as Technical Support, Rental Manager and Sales Manager for a leading European company in the multi-beam echo-sounder market. He also worked for a large European marine geophysical company as the Survey Operations Manager.

Currently at Alpine, he focuses on growth and prosperity of the company, looking for new markets, innovative technical solutions, and a culture for safer work environment by increasing work ethic and higher quality standards.

Passionate about nature and outdoor activities, he goes on long bike-rides. A self-proclaimed expert in football (the real one), he enjoys watching “Serie A” with other enthusiasts. He loves cooking for his family. After a hearty meal, they often go hiking or roaming around NYC exploring art museums and galleries.
